Trump’s Bold Move and Cruz’s Fiery Rebuke of NPR
Senator Cruz didn’t pull any punches. In a blistering video on X, he went after NPR hard. The Texas senator charged that the public broadcaster has practiced left-wing bias for far too long.
“The Communications Act requires public media entities, like NPR, to strictly adhere to ‘objectivity and balance in all programs or series of programs of a controversial nature,’” Cruz said. “Unfortunately, NPR does not.” Cruz wasn’t holding back. He blasted NPR for being bankrolled by liberal mega-donors. According to him, those donations turned the outlet into a propaganda machine, pushing the agendas of its backers.
Senator Cruz pointed out another ugly truth. He noted, “After receiving those donations, NPR churned out content precisely mirroring its donors’ agendas,” proving that the hypocrisy runs deep. NPR CEO Katherine Maher got a mention too. She once tweeted “Yes, reparations” long before the George Floyd incident. Now, with senior editors like Uri Berliner resigning in protest, his message is reinforced. Berliner, in a Free Press essay, exposed NPR’s lack of “viewpoint diversity” and its push for a leftist narrative.
Cruz didn’t stop there. He ripped into NPR’s so-called dedicated news desks for climate and race. According to him, these desks are nothing more than outlets saucing up progressive politics with taxpayer dollars. It isn’t proper journalism—it’s biased reporting dressed up as news.
President Trump’s bold decision to defund NPR and PBS is a win for fairness. For too long, these media giants hid behind a mask of neutrality while pushing a far-left ideology. Trump’s executive order is his way of saying that public funds shouldn’t be used to silence conservative voices or push a liberal agenda.
