The Unending Attacks on Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth
It seems like the ladies of “The View,” particularly Sunny Hostin, just can’t resist taking shots at conservatives. Recently, they went after Trump cabinet nominees Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth with unfounded claims that have been debunked time and again.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Hostin had to read legal notes not once but twice this week after making serious allegations against these men. Gaetz has faced baseless sex trafficking accusations for years, while Hegseth has been accused of sexual assault without any real evidence backing those claims.
On Friday’s show, instead of backing down, the women doubled down on their smears. It was almost as if they thought nobody would call them out for it.
Legal Notes Read Live On Air
Hostin announced she had two legal notes to share regarding her previous comments about Gaetz and Hegseth. She pointed out that Gaetz has denied all wrongdoing related to the sex trafficking allegations. Meanwhile, Hegseth’s lawyer stated he made a payment in 2023 to prevent a baseless lawsuit from going forward.
Here’s what Hostin said:
HOSTIN: I have a legal note. Matt Gaetz has long denied allegations and has not been charged with any crime. Also, another legal note: Pete Hegseth says he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit.
He has denied any wrongdoing.
BEHAR (laughing): That’s interesting. Pay off the, uh, witness.
If only these hosts could stick to facts instead of spreading lies! They wouldn’t need to read legal disclaimers if they stopped misrepresenting reality.
The Repeated Smears Against Conservatives
Earlier this week on Tuesday’s episode, Hostin was forced into reading another legal disclaimer after slandering Matt Gaetz by calling him a sex offender based on recycled DOJ allegations about child trafficking—allegations that are old news and lack credibility.
“How could you nominate someone with allegations of child trafficking across state lines?” she asked incredulously during her rant about Gaetz’s past actions involving an alleged encounter with a minor—a claim that is highly disputed.
Then came Thursday when she took aim at both men again—this time dragging Pete Hegseth through the mud over an old allegation already investigated by police back in 2017 in Monterey, California. A married woman claimed without proof that he assaulted her at an event; however, Hegseth maintains their interaction was consensual.
Despite having no solid evidence or charges against either man, these hosts chose slander over truth yet again.
The Need for Accountability?
One might wonder how far this can go before there are consequences for such reckless behavior? Perhaps it’s time someone considered filing a class-action lawsuit against “The View” co-hosts along with ABC itself for allowing this kind of defamatory rhetoric to continue unchecked.
And let’s not forget about ABC’s broadcasting license—it may be worth revisiting whether they should keep it given their track record lately!
