Scarborough and Brzezinski’s Sudden Change of Heart
Well, isn’t this something? Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the married co-hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, are now trying to be friendly with President-elect Trump after years of bashing him on their show. Just recently, they paid a visit to Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate. They claim they talked about ways to “unify the country” and tone down divisive rhetoric. Really? Because nothing says unity like two media personalities who have made a name for themselves by trashing Trump suddenly wanting to play nice.
Criticism from Megyn Kelly
Of course, the political world isn’t buying it. Megyn Kelly didn’t hold back when she called out Scarborough and Brzezinski on her Sirius XM show. She labeled them as “grifters,” accusing them of throwing journalistic ethics out the window just for a chance to get close to power. She even quoted liberal commentator Keith Olbermann, who referred to them as “confidence tricksters.” Kelly agreed wholeheartedly: “That’s exactly right.”
Kelly didn’t stop there; she reminded everyone how Scarborough and Brzezinski were all in for Trump during his 2016 primary campaign but turned into some of his fiercest critics once he took office. She described their early support as “true bootlicking.” Now that Trump is gearing up for another run at the White House, they seem eager to hop back on board.
The Visit: A Selfless Act or Opportunism?
Scarborough and Brzezinski want us to believe their visit was an act of public service. On Morning Joe, Brzezinski claimed that Trump was “upbeat, cheerful, and interested in finding common ground.” Seriously? This is coming from the same people who accused him of destroying democracy and spreading hate! Their sudden change in tone feels more like opportunism than any real desire for unity.
Kelly wasn’t having any of it either; she ended her rant with a blunt message directed at the couple: “Go f— yourselves, you dishonest jokes of faux journalists.” Subtle? Not really. Accurate? Absolutely.
The Irony Is Palpable
The irony here is thick enough to cut with a knife. For years now, Scarborough and Brzezinski branded themselves as principled opponents of everything Trump stood for. But now that he’s preparing for another shot at the Oval Office, they’re suddenly all about cooling things down? It looks like a desperate attempt rather than genuine outreach.
A Reminder About Politics
Sarcasm aside, Scarborough and Brzezinski’s latest move isn’t fooling anyone. Whether it’s about boosting ratings or gaining access—or simply showing hypocrisy—this stunt serves as yet another reminder that in politics—and cable news—principles often take a backseat when self-interest comes into play.
