FBI Agents Seize Eric Swalwell’s Phone at San Francisco Airport

Airport Search Puts Swalwell Back in the Spotlight

Former Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell was reportedly confronted by FBI agents at San Francisco Airport on Saturday after landing there, according to The Daily Mail as cited in the source report. The agents had a search warrant and seized his electronic devices, including his cell phone, as part of a federal criminal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. The same report said agents also went to Swalwell’s Washington, D.C., home on Sunday with warrants and took additional undisclosed potential evidence. Sources cited by The Daily Mail said Swalwell was cooperative during the encounters, which is the sort of detail that matters when the machinery of federal law enforcement starts collecting phones instead of press releases.

Multiple Allegations Remain Under Review

The source report says Swalwell faces several sexual assault allegations from at least four women. One former staffer has alleged that Swalwell raped her twice when she was too intoxicated to consent, with the alleged incidents occurring in 2019 and 2024. Another woman has alleged that Swalwell drugged and raped her in 2018. Two women also alleged that he sent them unsolicited explicit photos. The Department of Justice reportedly opened its investigation in April, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is also said to be investigating after a former staffer spoke to CNN about an alleged 2024 assault. In that interview, the woman said, “I went to the bathroom, and I don’t remember anything after that,” and described later memories of the alleged incident as aggressive. These remain allegations, and the legal process has not reached a public finding in the material provided.

Newly Declassified Memos Add Another Layer

The airport search was reported after Just the News released newly declassified memos about Swalwell’s past relationship with Fang Fang. According to the source report, the memos said Fang Fang went to Swalwell’s apartment at least twice, and that Swalwell “does not remember having candles lit while she was there.” The same report says Fang Fang would show up at his apartment “not wearing any underwear.” None of that proves the current allegations, but it does explain why this story is drawing attention beyond the usual political noise. When federal agents are taking electronics, prosecutors are asking questions, and old memos are being declassified, the public is no longer just watching another round of cable-news finger-pointing dressed up as accountability.
