Joe Biden, the current President of the United States, had a press conference on Thursday evening that was filled with gaffes and missteps. The event, which Biden arrived nearly an hour late for, was nothing short of a disaster.
Biden’s first blunder came when he referred to Kamala Harris as ‘Vice President Trump’. This mistake occurred immediately after he had wrongly addressed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as ‘President Putin’.
‘I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President if I didn’t think she was not qualified to be president,’ Biden said in response to a reporter’s question about Kamala Harris potentially being at the top of the ticket.
Not surprisingly, former President Donald Trump wasted no time in mocking Biden for his slip-up. Taking to Truth Social on Thursday evening, Trump derided Biden’s performance at the press conference.
‘Crooked Joe begins his “Big Boy” Press Conference with, “I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president.” Great job, Joe!’ Trump posted on Truth Social Thursday evening.
NBC’s Peter Alexander pointed out to Biden that Trump had been making fun of him for referring to Harris as ‘Vice President Trump’. Alexander asked how Biden planned to respond to this criticism about his age and memory. Rather than addressing the issue directly, Biden attempted a witty retort that unfortunately fell flat.
‘Listen to him,’ was all that Biden could muster in response.
In conclusion, it appears that this press conference did little more than provide fodder for critics of the current administration. With each passing day, it becomes increasingly clear that strong leadership is sorely needed in the White House.
