Agents Met Swalwell After His Flight
New footage published by The Gateway Pundit shows FBI agents surrounding former Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell at San Francisco International Airport after he got off a plane earlier this month. According to the report, agents seized Swalwell’s iPhone and MacBook Pro laptop as part of an investigation into allegations of sexual assault. Swalwell was wearing a hoodie when agents approached him, and he was not arrested. In Washington terms, that is still a very bad travel day, even before the checked bag shows up somewhere in Cleveland.

Justice Department Inquiry Followed Earlier Allegations
The report says the Justice Department launched an investigation in April into allegations of sexual assault against Swalwell. It also says Swalwell resigned from Congress and dropped out of the California governor’s race earlier this year because of the allegations. At least five women have come forward with allegations against him, according to the report. These remain allegations unless and until they are proven through the legal process, which is the part of the system that is supposed to matter more than press conferences, campaign slogans, or carefully worded statements from people paid by the hour.
One Accuser Spoke Publicly in Beverly Hills
One accuser, Lonna Drews, spoke at a Beverly Hills press conference in April. She is represented by attorney Lisa Bloom. Before that press conference, Bloom said, “I represent a brave Eric Swalwell accuser. Her disturbing story is forthcoming. We call upon him to resign from Congress and the governor’s race, and we will cooperate with authorities in their investigation.” Bloom also said three other women had contacted her with accusations against Swalwell. Drews alleged that in 2018, while she was living and working as a model in Beverly Hills and running a fashion software company, she had contact with Swalwell on three occasions. She said she believed he drugged her drink during the third encounter and alleged that he raped and choked her until she lost consciousness. Swalwell has not been reported arrested in connection with the airport encounter.
More Offices Are Reportedly Looking at Claims
Following Drews’ public statement, the Los Angeles District Attorney opened an investigation into Swalwell, according to the report. The story also says the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is investigating after a former staffer came forward to CNN and alleged Swalwell sexually assaulted her in 2019 and raped her in 2024, years after she had left his employment. The number of offices, dates, and claims now involved makes this far more than a passing political embarrassment. It is a legal matter with serious allegations, and the public record will need to do what public relations never can: sort facts from noise.
