The world’s largest cruise ship, the Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, has once again been hit by a tragic incident. Earlier this week, a passenger tragically ended his life by jumping from the ship. This unfortunate event was reported by The New York Post.
According to Coast Guard officials, the unidentified man plummeted over 80 feet into the ocean shortly after the ship embarked on its voyage from Florida to Honduras. The Coast Guard promptly responded to the emergency by deploying a rescue boat and managing to pull him out of the water. Despite their quick and relentless efforts, he was pronounced dead following their rescue operation.
The US Coast Guard has clarified that their role in this incident was primarily focused on assisting with search and recovery efforts.
Below is a distressing video that captures the frantic attempts made by rescue crews to locate and save the man.
