Man Arrested for Threatening to Bomb Erika Kirk and TPUSA

San Antonio police move after online threats

San Antonio police took Jacob Wenske into custody early Thursday morning after investigators linked him to threats aimed at Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA’s upcoming Women’s Leadership Summit. Wenske faces two third-degree felony charges for making a terroristic threat that causes public fear of serious bodily injury or public disruption. According to arrest records cited by KSAT, the threats were made in April after the summit was promoted online. The event is set for June 5 through 7 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk.

Threats posted in public and by email

Police say Wenske replied to a post promoting the summit with the line, “I know exactly where to bomb.” In a follow-up reply, he wrote, “I can’t wait to be the valet for her escort.” Investigators also reviewed an email sent from an account tied to Wenske that read, “Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!! America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event.” That is not political commentary. It is a felony complaint waiting to happen.

TPUSA says security was already in place

Erika Kirk, who became CEO of TPUSA after her husband’s murder, is scheduled to speak at the summit, which is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees. Turning Point USA said it takes threats seriously and works with law enforcement at every level to respond and resolve them. The group said it is grateful to the San Antonio Police Department and the FBI for their rapid response and arrest. TPUSA also said its events use layered security with private guards and local police, which is a nice way of saying organizers now have to budget for the world’s least charming audience members. Wenske’s bond was set at $120,000.
