FBI Director Kash Patel Delivers a Knockout on Capitol Hill
FBI Director Kash Patel stepped up on Capitol Hill today. He didn’t hold back when a Pennsylvania congresswoman tried to stir up trouble over a leaked military chat. The chat spilled details about sensitive operations against the Houthis. Patel shut down the baseless calls for a witch hunt against the Trump administration.
According to The Gateway Pundit’s report, Jeffrey Goldberg – the leftist anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic – claimed without evidence he was “accidentally” added to a secure Signal group chat. Inside that thread, top officials reportedly discussed military plans against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen, even calling them “war plans.”
Instead of keeping quiet, Goldberg did what deep-state attackers do best. He snapped screenshots and rushed to leak the conversation. Team Trump fired back hard, dismissing his claims as lies and insisting no such war plans were discussed. Now, Goldberg and his co-worker Shane Harris have doubled down by publishing details of the alleged military plans. Their stunt only served to backfire.
Goldberg had previously used the term “war plans” to grab media attention. Now, he’s rebranding them as “attack plans” – a move that only hands ammunition to Team Trump. In a House hearing with intelligence leaders, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) pushed Patel to launch an investigation into the leak.
“Now that another day has passed, do you think it’s time for the FBI to open an investigation (into the leak)?” Houlahan asked Patel.
“I’m not going to comment on that,” Patel replied.
Houlahan shot back, “Because you’re the director of the FBI, you don’t believe it’s appropriate to comment on that?”
Patel then set the record straight. “Because there’s a process in place. There’s ongoing litigation, and The National Security Council is reviewing this matter,” he explained. “And I’m not going to discuss any open or closed investigations.”
The frustrated Democrat complained, “That ongoing investigation…The lawsuit literally happened today or yesterday afternoon. And the idea that you don’t have an opinion on this at this point is frustrating to me.”
At that moment, Patel had enough. He fired back, “No, it’s not. I’m not going to prejudge any matter, and the men and women of the FBI will call the balls and strikes. Not you.”
Patel’s confident handling of the situation left Houlahan with nothing to say. The message was loud and clear: the FBI runs its own investigations without bowing to political pressure. In a time when the left is eager to fire off baseless claims, Patel’s firm stance is a breath of fresh air for those who believe in proper law enforcement procedures.
