UCLA Professor’s Insane Call for Military Coup
A UCLA professor just crossed every line. Peter Arenella sparked a firestorm with his crazy social media post on Saturday night. He urged the U.S. Military to violently depose President Donald Trump.
“At this point, my only hope for the US to avoid becoming an ally to Russia is a violent resistance by our military. Tragic to say that because the military are trained to avoid any politically motivated intervention,” he claimed. And he didn’t stop there.
This isn’t the first time Arenella has pushed the envelope. The man’s history is littered with far-left, anti-Trump rants. His biography boasts awards and a long résumé as if that were a license to spew dangerous ideas. According to his own bio, “He is a nationally recognized criminal law and procedure scholar, writing about the relationship between criminal and moral responsibility by exploring competing conceptions of criminal culpability and moral agency at work in immaturity and mental disability defenses (e.g., insanity, diminished capacity, mental retardation)…”
He’s no stranger to the limelight. Arenella once worked as a legal analyst for ABC News during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. But what he’s doing now is a whole different ballgame. His call for violent military intervention reeks of extremism.
And the professor’s post didn’t stop there. He went on to say, “Firing all the Joint Chief of Staff military leaders and replacing them with military acolytes of Trump anticipated that possibility and acted swiftly to minimize that type of intervention. Ultimately, we will get what we deserve by giving Trump a second chance to destroy our democracy.”
Arenella’s rant is a stark reminder of how far left ideologies have strayed. His twisted logic and anti-Trump bias leave a bad taste in the mouth for anyone who loves America. His rant isn’t patriotism. It’s a dangerous call to arms for those willing to undermine democracy.
Even his other comments show his clear bias. “If history of the US Presidency doesn’t end with a fascist, racist and authoritarian President putting the last nail in the coffin of our democracy, Biden will be remembered for being one of our best leaders,” Arenella wrote in an Inauguration Day X post earlier this year.
And he doubled down on his far-left agenda. “His pre-emptive pardons of American heroes like Fauci and the Jan 6th committee members reflects his courage and wisdom because he knows Trump will weaponize the DOJ to go after his adversaries,” he continued. This is not just talk—it’s an incitement to further divide and disrupt.
The professor isn’t done stirring the pot. In a separate post, Arenella stated that he has been “begging HS and College kids to plan a massive protest for the past 2 yrs: what better time and place to do it than Washington, DC on our national day of shame when Trump is sworn in to be President. If you agree, repost it to any young followers you have.”
This dangerous rhetoric does nothing but fan the flames of division. Instead of strengthening our nation, it seeks to tear it apart. The call for violent intervention undercuts the very foundation of American freedom and the rule of law.
Now more than ever, we must stand up for our nation’s values and push back against these radical ideas. It’s time to put patriotism before political ideology and ensure that our country remains a beacon of strength and freedom.
