Election Integrity Under Fire in Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania woman is facing serious legal trouble after allegedly registering dead individuals and fictitious names to vote in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Jennifer Hill, a resident of Collingdale, has been charged with 40 counts of election fraud, including forgery. This shocking case came to light during an investigation that revealed her fraudulent activities while she worked as a canvasser for a voter outreach group.
Fraudulent Registrations Exposed
Hill was employed by the New Pennsylvania Project, an organization aimed at expanding voter registration. Between April and September 2024, she reportedly submitted 310 voter registrations. Out of those, 181 were processed successfully. However, authorities discovered that at least four of these registrations were completely fake. Disturbingly, some of the names on these fraudulent entries included deceased individuals—like Hill’s own father and a man who passed away in her home back in 2011.
Concerns About Election Integrity
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer called this case a “significant breach” of election integrity. He pointed out how flaws in Pennsylvania’s voter registration system allowed such fraud to happen. The system’s vulnerabilities—like the lack of a birthdate or Social Security number—enabled these fraudulent registrations to go unnoticed for too long. The app used by the New Pennsylvania Project made it all too easy for canvassers like Hill to submit registrations without proper checks.
While no fraudulent votes were cast in the 2024 election, this incident raises serious concerns about gaps in our electoral system. Investigators believe Hill may have been trying to boost her performance numbers to impress her employer. The fraudulent registrations were traced back to a device issued by the New Pennsylvania Project, confirming Hill’s involvement.
A Call for Action
“Let this case send a message that we are attentive to the signs of fraud, no matter how busy the election season is,” said Delaware County election director Jim Allen. He also called for a thorough review of all voter registration applications submitted by Hill and the New Pennsylvania Project.
In addition to Hill’s charges, Stollsteimer urged the Pennsylvania Department of State to address the loopholes in their voter registration system. He emphasized that legislative changes are needed to improve security and prevent further incidents like this from occurring. With multiple counts of forgery against her—each carrying up to 10 years in prison—Hill is currently awaiting arraignment.
