Trump Reports Historic Drop in Illegal Immigrant Encounters During His First Full Month in Office

Trump Declares Border Victory with Record-Low Apprehensions

President Donald Trump took to social media on Saturday afternoon with bold claims about border security. He said, “The Invasion of our Country is OVER.” Trump’s statement came after his first full month in office, during which U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) recorded just 8,326 apprehensions of illegal immigrants – a record-setting low.

In his Truth Social post, Trump highlighted that every single illegal immigrant caught at the southern border was “quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America.” This direct approach sets the tone for a no-nonsense border policy that many Republicans have long championed.

What’s even more striking is that the Trump administration’s numbers represent a 96% drop compared to highs under the Biden administration in December 2023. Back then, CBP reported 301,981 encounters at the southern border. Trump’s bold claims really hit home when he compared the two administrations: “In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants.”

These figures aren’t just numbers. They show a clear, firm commitment to protecting American borders. In fiscal year 2024, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported 271,484 removals, while the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) logged about 700,000 removals and returns, more than any prior fiscal year since 2010. When compared to the Biden administration’s record of single days with nearly 10,000 apprehensions, the difference is glaring.

This isn’t just political rhetoric. The facts paint a picture of a country that is finally reclaiming its sovereignty and ensuring national security. Trump’s approach to border security isn’t about politics—it’s about keeping America safe. His unapologetic and straightforward message resonates with those demanding results, rather than empty promises.

It’s hard to ignore the stark contrast in policy execution and outcomes between the two administrations. While critics may try to downplay the numbers, the facts remain unaltered. The administration’s decisive actions have closed the border to illegal immigration, reaffirming the promise to protect American communities and uphold the rule of law.

The robust numbers and hard-hitting comparisons send a clear signal: America’s borders are not to be taken lightly. For those who believe that American security starts at the border, the message is loud and clear—Trump’s policies are working, and the invasion is truly over.
