Trump Lawyer SMACKS DOWN Dumbfounded CNN Host

Recently, CNN’s Dana Bash pressed Trump’s lawyer Joseph Tacopina over claims that the arraignment judge was biased.

The judge is none other than Juan Merchan, the acting justice for the New York County Supreme Court. He’s the same guy who previously oversaw the criminal tax evasion and fraud case against the Trump Organization. This case saw Trump’s former CFO sentenced to five months in a New York City jail complex.

Trump wasn’t happy, and he took to Twitter to air his grievances. In a Tweet, he called Merchan a “railroader” and claimed that he was treating his companies “viciously.”

When Bash pressed Tacopina on the judge, he argued that Trump had been the victim of “political persecution” and that the former president had “a right to be angry”. He also said that he had no reason to speculate that Merchan was biased.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Democrats and the woke left are using the justice system to target political opponents. Trump’s case is a perfect example of this. It’s almost as if they’re trying to make an example out of him, to prove that no one is above the law.

It’s a shame that our justice system has become so politicized. People should be judged on the merits of their case, not on their political views. Unfortunately, this doesn’t appear to be the case with Trump’s arraignment.

The transcript from the Bash and Tacopina interaction is as follows:

“The Judge ‘assigned’ to my With Hunt Case, a ‘Case’ that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME,” Trump wrote in a Friday Truth Social post. “His name is Juan Manuel Marchan [sic], was hand-picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors, & is the same person who ‘railroaded’ my 75-year-old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to take a ‘plea’ deal (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in jail. He strong-armed Allen, which a judge is not allowed to do, & treated my companies, which didn’t ‘plead,’ VICIOUSLY. APPEALING!”

Bash asked if the former president’s attorney, Joseph Tacopina, will request a different judge in the case. Tacopina said they will review all legal options related to the indictment and echoed Trump’s claims of “political persecution.”

“Had he not been running for the presidency, he would not have been indicted,” Tacopina said.

“But let’s talk about the judge,” Bash interjected. “My question is about the judge, will you ask for a different judge?”

“Well I just said, we have to get the indictment and then we will evaluate every single legal maneuver,” he answered. “I have no issue with this judge whatsoever.”

“But your client does,” she said.

Tacopina then argued that Trump “has a right” to be angry about everything given that he has been “politically persecuted” by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. He said he “has no reason” to speculate that Merchan is biased and allow the process to continue.

It’s sad that our justice system has become so politicized. We should be able to rely on the courts to be fair and impartial. Unfortunately, in Trump’s case it looks like the odds are stacked against him. We can only hope that the truth comes out and justice is served.
