Trump Takes a Stand on Women’s Sports While California Scrambles
This weekend, big news rocked women’s sports. President Trump isn’t taking any slack. He’s fighting to protect fairness and opportunity for female athletes.
At Jurupa Valley High School, AB Hernandez, a transgender athlete and junior, clinched first in both the girls’ high jump and triple jump. California officials panicked. Their response? A hasty rule change.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) announced that “any biological female who placed behind a transgender athlete will retain her original placement” and allowed “an extra biological female to compete in any event that included Hernandez.” It was a quick fix that missed the point.
All this came after President Trump put the pressure on. Under his watch, federal funds were threatened. The President was clear on social media when he said on Truth Social: “California, under the leadership of Radical Left Democrat Gavin Newscum, continues to ILLEGALLY allow ‘MEN TO PLAY IN WOMEN’S SPORTS.’ THIS IS NOT FAIR, AND TOTALLY DEMEANING TO WOMEN AND GIRLS. Please be hereby advised that large scale Federal Funding will be held back, maybe permanently, if the Executive Order on this subject matter is not adhered to.” He even warned local authorities to step in if Hernandez competed.
Earlier on February 5th, President Trump signed a landmark Executive Order. This move was meant to restore fairness and protect female athletes across the country. At the signing he proclaimed, “The war on women’s sports is over.” His decisive order “banned biological men from competing in women’s sports nationwide,” setting a clear direction that California officials seem to ignore.
The liberal media isn’t giving this story its due. Instead of focusing on the young women losing out, they twist the story to push an agenda of transgender inclusion while dismissing calls for fairness as “discrimination.”
Athletes, parents, and fans aren’t holding back. They watched as the event sent a powerful message, even displaying a plane with the sign, “No Boys In Girls’ Sports.” The truth is simple: letting athletes who experienced male puberty compete with females creates an uneven field. It undermines decades of progress made under Title IX.
President Trump’s use of federal leverage, including funding cuts, shows he’s not messing around. His actions speak to a commitment to protecting the integrity of women’s sports. The situation in California is just one example of the chaos when the facts are ignored. The Executive Order wasn’t just a paper move—it was urgent, common-sense protection against radical policy changes.
