The Left Points To The Right For Causing Colorado LGBTQ Nightclub Mass Shooting

The tragic mass shooting that occurred in Colorado on Saturday was allegedly caused by Republicans, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, according to a number of liberal journalists and pundits.

Just after midnight, a shooter walked into Colorado Springs' LGBTQ nightclub Club Q and started shooting into the crowd. There were at least five fatalities and 25 injuries. Before the shooter could continue his rampage, several clubgoers confronted the gunman and were successful in taking him down.

The accused is charged with five first-degree murders and five crimes motivated by bias. Even though investigators are still looking for a motive as of Tuesday, prominent media figures had already concluded the day before that Republican rhetoric toward the LGBTQ community was a direct cause of the attack.

The female panelists on "The View" engaged in a protracted discussion about the shooting while appearing to place the blame for the tragedy on Republicans, religion, and conservatives. Whoopi Goldberg mentioned Boebert specifically at the beginning of the conversation.

"Words matter," Goldberg said. "Words matter and people like Lauren Boebert who, you know, has been in the forefront of dissing LGBTQ+ people is now saying her prayers and thoughts go with the families. Well, they don’t really need your prayers and thoughts. They needed your votes. That’s what they needed."

A sizable portion of the coverage was provided by MSNBC, which connected the Colorado shooting, the recent rise in hate crimes, and the Republican Party.

NBC News senior reporter Ben Collins expressed his desire for a journalist to experience a "come to Jesus moment" regarding divisive political rhetoric during an appearance on "Morning Joe."
