Self-Proclaimed Kingdom Stands Firm Against Court Order in Scotland

The leader of a self-proclaimed African tribe in a Scottish woodland is refusing to budge, even after a court ordered them to leave.

A sheriff issued a removal warrant for the so-called Kingdom of Kubala, which has been camping near Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders for the past few weeks.

The trio claims they’re reclaiming land that was taken from their ancestors 400 years ago.

Kofi Offeh, 36, leads the group as King Atehene. His wife, Jean Gasho, 43, calls herself Queen Nandi, and their friend, Kaura Taylor, goes by Asnat.

Despite the court’s order, they have no plans to pack up and leave.

At their campsite, Mr. Offeh stated, “The creator of the heavens and the Earth is the one with us. We are not afraid of whatever the court – the so-called court – has granted.”
