Security Guard Takes Decisive Action to Restore Order Against Disruptive Anti-Israel Protester at Tour de France

Childish Stunts at the Tour de France

A protester at the Tour de France acted more like a kid throwing a tantrum than someone with a serious cause. Wearing a keffiyeh and a t-shirt screaming “Israel out of the Tour,” he literally ran down the race course. His antics may have been bold, but they were also dangerous.

The rider on the protest came off as a clear distraction. In the middle of the race, his stunt was more than a “look at me” moment—it put athletes at risk. The security guard wasn’t having any of it. He shoved the protester against a barrier and then grabbed him by the ear, dumping him over the wall. The response was as swift and hard-hitting as you’d expect from anyone fed up with such reckless behavior.

Watch here.

The New York Post reports:

The protest was presumably directed at the Israel Premier-Tech team, which is registered in Israel, although it does not feature any Israeli bikers at this year’s event.

In April, pro-Palestinian movement Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions dubbed Israel Premier-Tech “Team Genocide,” and called for “peaceful protests.”

“We call for more peaceful protests than ever along the routes of cycling races where Team Genocide is participating, including the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España,” the organization wrote. “Let’s make sure the road is closed to genocide perpetrators.”

This isn’t the first time cyclists have been endangered by ill-advised protest antics. Back in 2021, a woman with a sign—saying “Allez Opi and Omi” (or “Go Grandpa and Grandma”)—jumped into the race course. Her stunt not only disrupted the race but also injured several cyclists and knocked top competitors out of contention. Her actions injured several cyclists and turned a tense moment into chaos.

The takeaway here is simple. When protest turns into a childish stunt, it not only undermines the cause but also puts lives at risk. At high speeds and in a dangerous environment like the Tour de France, there’s no room for reckless behavior. It’s more than a call for attention—it’s a cry-out for the protester to grow up and consider the safety of others.
