John Fetterman Stands Firm on Votes to Reopen Government Amid Schumer Shutdown and Rebukes Sunny Hostin

Fetterman Claps Back at Sunny Hostin on The View

On a heated episode of The View, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman didn’t back down when co-host Sunny Hostin went on the offensive. She slammed him for his vote to reopen the government, accusing him of giving in to Republicans, but Fetterman was ready.

Sunny hit him with big guns, calling his decision a “horrific mistake” while echoing California Governor Gavin Newsom’s critical words. Even bringing up how the GOP got the blame during the shutdown. But Fetterman stood his ground.

He fired back, stating, “MTG is quite literally the last person in America that I’m going to take advice from.” In other words, he’s not looking for a pat on the back from far-right firebrands or blue-state governors.

His message was clear—stop the games and think about the real issues. With 42 million Americans uncertain about their next meal, Fetterman wasn’t about to entertain political dramatics. “This isn’t a political game,” he said, driving home his point with the harsh reality of workers borrowing over half a billion dollars just to survive the stalemate.

It was a reminder that, for him, this isn’t about party loyalty but about what’s practical and necessary for his constituents.
