Jeff Webb Dies at 76
Jeff Webb, a conservative media owner and longtime supporter of Turning Point USA, has died at the age of 76. The Post Millennial confirmed his death and said it was reportedly the result of a fall while he was playing pickleball. Webb was known in right-leaning media circles through his ownership and publishing work with Human Events and The Post Millennial, and he often appeared at events tied to the younger activist wing of the movement. He is survived by his wife, Gina Webb, along with their children and grandchildren.
From Cheerleading to Publishing
Before his name showed up in political media, Webb built a major business career in cheerleading. He founded Varsity Spirit in 1974, and the company grew into one of the largest organizations in the country for competitions, training camps, and related events. He later launched the International Cheer Union, which expanded the sport abroad and now operates in more than 100 countries. That is a long way from the newsroom, but it fits a familiar American pattern: build a serious business, then let the political class discover you when they need a donor, a platform, or both.
Tributes From His Circle
Turning Point USA described Webb as a visionary who helped shape young leaders and believed in community and country. The group also said he was a dear friend to Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk. Webb authored American Restoration: How to Unshackle the Great Middle Class, and in an interview after Kirk’s assassination last September, he said the movement may have lost a future president. The public tributes were posted on X by Andy Ngo, Turning Point USA, and Real America’s Voice.
