Trump’s Tough Stance Pays Off with Major MS-13 Arrest
Federal law enforcement just scored big. A high-ranking MS-13 gang leader has been nabbed. This is a win for our safety and a clear sign that President Trump’s tough immigration policies work.
In Hyattsville, Maryland, just six miles from D.C., ICE agents teamed up with the FBI and caught 27-year-old David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman. The Salvadoran national was illegally in the U.S. and allegedly ran operations for MS-13 in the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. His capture shows that strong border enforcement keeps dangerous criminals off our streets.
Acting Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, Matthew Elliston, called the capture a “significant blow” to the gang’s leadership. “This arrest speaks volumes about the cooperation enjoyed between ICE and the FBI,” Elliston said. This hard-hitting action sends one clear message: criminals exploiting our communities won’t be tolerated.
The story gets even juicier. Back in December 2016, Salvadoran authorities arrested Orellana-Aleman on charges of terrorist affiliation and other crimes tied to his MS-13 membership. Yet, he slipped into the U.S. without proper screening. Another run-in with the law – this time for driving without a license – only emphasized the urgent need for strict immigration enforcement.
FBI Baltimore Special Agent in Charge William J. DelBagno praised the arrest, saying, “Maryland is immediately safer because of this arrest.” He added, “His arrest demonstrates the success we can have when we collectively investigate and disrupt violent criminals seeking to exploit our communities.”
President Trump’s no-nonsense approach has revamped immigration enforcement since January. The administration scrapped outdated restrictions, empowering ICE to act decisively. As part of Border Czar Tom Homan’s aggressive deportation initiative, the focus is on kicking out illegal migrants who commit heinous crimes like murder, sex trafficking, and drug trafficking.
This isn’t just about keeping our borders secure; it’s about protecting American lives. International cooperation is booming too. El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele is stepping up. After meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Bukele backed Trump’s plan by offering El Salvador’s “mega-prison” for housing deported MS-13 members and other criminals. This global alliance sends a clear message: lawlessness has no home here.
