Tradition Under Attack: DAR Wages War for Real America
American institutions used to stand for something real. The Boy Scouts molded young men. Those were the days, folks. Now, every proud establishment seems to be falling apart in the culture wars.
Take Hollywood, for instance. That glittering cesspool churns out progressive propaganda faster than you can say “superhero reboot with an agenda.” No American tradition is safe anymore. Radical activists are dismantling our heritage piece by piece.
Even our most storied historical societies aren’t off the hook. The institutions our grandparents revered are being hollowed out from the inside. Their missions are twisted. Traditions are trampled. The latest casualty? An organization founded to honor the heroes of America’s independence. The irony is as bitter as it is tragic.
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have seen better days. Founded in 1890 as a proud, women-only group, they now face an existential crisis. Local chapters are calling on President Trump to step in and rescue their historic organization from what they call “trans ideology.” These women, with lineage tracing back to revolutionary patriots, are watching as their national leadership opens the door to biological men.
From ‘The Daily Wire’:
“Being unable to join the Sons of America Revolution, the DAR was founded in 1890 for women, by women,” the letter read, noting the group’s mission to “promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.” “However, National and State leadership have abandoned the moral obligations of this once stalwart and prestigious institution to embrace the transgender movement.”
In Texas, the Martha Laird Chapter—backed by five other chapters—has banded together as “Daughters Advocating for Restoration.” They’ve discovered that the national organization is allowing men with state-certified altered birth certificates to join. That move effectively ends a 130-year-old tradition of a space created by women, for women.
Grassroots resistance is building. Laura McDonald, from the Martha Laird Chapter, said in a February proposal, “The spirit of the new proposal is to impel applicants to act in good faith when submitting their documents for application. At the same time, it will send a clear message that the Daughters of the American Revolution is a society exclusively for women. Men need not apply – no matter what state-certified, altered documents he produces.”
Sadly, the DAR National Board of Management shot down this common-sense fix, dismissing it as “not in the best interest of the Society.”
That’s where President Trump might come in as the last card to play. The coalition’s letter calls on Trump to “shine a light on what has happened within the ranks of the DAR” after his executive order declared the United States will only recognize two genders. If anyone understands standing up to entrenched establishments, it’s Trump.
The letter also points out how the national organization warned that “excluding trans-identifying men” would somehow “strip the DAR of its 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax status” – a claim made “without referencing any federal, civil, or municipal code.” It smacks of scare tactics, not reality, especially when the administration backs biological truth.
Trump’s intervention could be a game-changer. With a simple executive action, his team can affirm that single-sex organizations like DAR have every right to remain that way. If the DAR can’t decide what a daughter is, what hope does the rest of us have?
This fight isn’t just about one organization. It’s a stand for every traditional American institution battling the relentless tide of progressive ideology. The time to back these modern revolutionaries is now.
