Clinton Adviser Urges Investigation Into Allegations of Debate Rigging by ABC News

Clinton Adviser Calls for Investigation into ABC News Bias

A former top adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton has raised serious concerns about ABC News and its role in the presidential debate. Mark Penn, who was a chief strategist for Hillary Clinton during her 2008 campaign, believes the network should hire an external law firm to investigate whether they helped “rig the outcome” of the debate.

What Mark Penn Says

During an appearance on the John Solomon Reports podcast, Penn urged ABC to conduct a thorough internal investigation. He emphasized that it’s important to determine how much of the debate coverage was pre-planned. “I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm,” he stated. “I don’t know what they told the Harris campaign.” His call for scrutiny reflects growing suspicion about media bias surrounding this election cycle.

The Media’s Role in Shaping Outcomes

Penn pointed out that there seems to be a strong bias from legacy media towards Kamala Harris, which shields her from facing tough questions. He argued that in a close race like this one, having “referees” favor one side makes it harder for other candidates to compete fairly. “It’s a 50-50 race. He’s [Trump] got more obvious tools to get across the finish line than she does,” he noted while critiquing how media coverage has been less than fair.

Debate Dynamics: Favoritism Towards Kamala?

The recent presidential debate showed clear signs of bias against Donald Trump right from the start. Both moderators appeared more critical of him while going easy on Kamala Harris. This unfair treatment raises questions about whether the debate was rigged against Trump.

Fact-checking Disparities: A Double Standard?

Throughout the debate, Trump faced multiple fact-checks while Harris went unchallenged despite making several questionable claims. For instance, she repeated falsehoods related to Trump’s handling of racial issues and safety concerns without any pushback from moderators.

Connections Between Moderators and Harris

The bias became even more apparent when one of the moderators, Linsey Davis, openly acknowledged her friendship with Kamala Harris as sorority sisters back in 2021. This connection led many viewers to believe that she had a personal interest in protecting Harris during their exchange.

Others Weigh In on Media Bias

Doug Schoen, another political strategist with ties to President Clinton and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg, also criticized how Harris received preferential treatment during the debate. In his editorial piece, he noted that “Harris was aided and abetted by two ABC News moderators who seemingly felt the need to fact-check virtually everything” Trump said.

CNN’s Jake Tapper Joins Critics

Even CNN’s Jake Tapper joined those calling out Kamala for dodging questions during the debate. His critique underscores how mainstream media figures are acknowledging flaws in coverage related to this election cycle.
