Massive Security Planned for AZ Charlie Kirk Memorial on Sunday. Here’s Where You Can Stream It.
- Huge security presence mirrors Super Bowl-level planning for a spontaneous memorial.
- Organizers ask attendees to register but expect many to show up unregistered.
- Strict entry rules and TSA-level checks aim to keep people safe while honoring Charlie Kirk.
- High-profile speakers will appear and the service will be livestreamed for those who can’t attend.
Arizona is gearing up for one of the most watched memorials in recent conservative memory, and local police are treating it like a major sports event. Glendale Police spokesman Jose Santiago was blunt: “This is at the level of the Super Bowl,” for the memorial. That comparison matters because the city has real experience handling mega events and won’t be improvising on security now.
It’s telling that organizers had only about a week to prepare for this national moment, whereas the Super Bowl gets years of planning. “When we’ve had these mega events, we’ve had upwards of two years to plan for these events,” he added. “For this particular event, we’ve had about a week to get prepared. The good news is that Glendale knows how to handle these mega events, and we handle them well.”
Authorities are clear that the logistics are tougher without ticketing and a firm attendee count. “Right now, it’s all hands on deck,” Santiago continued. “Pretty much everyone that we have that can work is working to make sure that this event goes off successfully and safely…The challenge that we’re facing here is that when we have something like the Super Bowl, that is a ticketed event. So we know exactly how many people are going to be attending. This particular event is not a ticketed event.”
Turning Point USA, the organization Charlie founded, has pushed for registration to help authorities plan, but they admit some will arrive without signing up. They describe security as “TSA-level” at State Farm Stadium and warn of longer waits as a result. The group also laid out a no-bag policy and requests that material tributes be sent to TPUSA headquarters instead of State Farm.
NO BAG POLICY IN EFFECT: Guests arriving with bags, even clear bags, will NOT be permitted entry. You will be required to return the bag to your vehicle and rejoin the line from the end.
Please be advised that enhanced security measures are in place, which may result in longer wait times than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
In lieu of flowers, we kindly invite you to honor Charlie’s legacy by supporting us at tpusa.com. If you do have any material items, please do not bring them to State Farm Stadium. Instead, they may be delivered to Turning Point USA Headquarters.
Doors open early: people can arrive as early as 7 am to park, though overnight camping is banned and gates open at 8 am with the service slated to begin at 11 am. For those who cannot make the trip, the memorial will be streamed for free on Charlie Kirk’s Rumble page here.
Expect remarks from family and national conservative leaders including President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, among others, as the movement Charlie built honors him. Erika Kirk was named TPUSA’s new CEO and board chair, carrying forward a mission he started. The outpouring at campus vigils and packed events shows his influence stretched far beyond any single venue.
