What Rep. Crawford told Maria Bartiromo
On Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Rep. Rick Crawford said the Iran threat is not just a state problem. He pointed to religious and ideological ties among roughly 30 million Shiites worldwide as part of a global network that could be mobilized after the killing of Iran’s leader. He also noted a suspected bombing at the U.S. embassy in Oslo as a reminder that threats can appear far from Tehran yet still have global consequences.
Why this matters at home
Crawford warned of active terror cells in the United States and said the risk is persistent. His message was simple. Intelligence and homeland security work take money and manpower. If you want to spot and stop plots before they happen, you fund the people who do that work. Saying otherwise is not a strategy. It is a prayer.
Politics vs. preparedness
He blamed Democratic lawmakers for moving goal posts on Homeland Security funding and urged a stop to what he called political games. That is a classic Washington complaint. Funding gaps and partisan fights do not make good partners for agencies that have to respond to real threats. If you prefer rhetoric over readiness, be ready for surprises.
Also noted: weapons production and industry pledges
Crawford mentioned separate footage showing U.S. weapons manufacturers committing to ramp up production. That sounds like industry doing what industry does when demand spikes. More production may help allies and deter enemies, but it also raises questions about supply chains, oversight, and how fast the government can coordinate deliveries if the situation worsens.
