Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY): A Megaphone for Hezbollah Propaganda?
As the American public, we should never forget that words have power. This week, a glaring example of this truth came from none other than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). She found herself in hot water after seemingly parroting Hezbollah propaganda regarding Israel’s recent operation against the terrorist group’s communication devices.
Israel Strikes Back
In two separate rounds of precision strikes, Israel targeted and destroyed pagers and walkie talkies that were discovered to be rigged with explosives by Hezbollah terrorists. The result? Thousands of these dangerous operatives were wounded, including hundreds critically so. Unfortunately, dozens also lost their lives.
AOC Echoes Hezbollah Sentiments
In response to this justified act of self-defense by Israel, AOC took to X platform to voice her concern – or should we say, echo Hezbollah’s narrative? “Israel’s pager attack in Lebanon detonated thousands of handheld devices across a slew of public spaces, seriously injuring and killing innocent civilians,” she claimed.
But wait! There’s more! AOC went on to state, “This attack clearly and unequivocally violates international humanitarian law and undermines US efforts to prevent a wider conflict.” But was she speaking as an elected US official or simply repeating what the terrorist organization wants us all to believe?
Congressional Accountability: Where Does It Stand?
The Congresswoman didn’t stop there. She called for a “full accounting” of the attack from Congress itself. More specifically? An answer from the State Department on whether any US assistance was involved in developing or deploying this technology.
A Mirror Reflection of Propaganda?
What’s truly alarming is how closely AOC’s message mirrors the propaganda that Hezbollah has been disseminating. As noted by Joe Truzman, a senior research analyst at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), there’s an uncanny resemblance between the two narratives.
Read and Decide
Does AOC’s alignment with Hezbollah propaganda concern you? Does it raise questions about her understanding of international politics, or worse, her loyalty to our nation?
