Adult Film Superstar Indicted Of Over 30 Sexual Assaults Counts

District Attorney George Gascón announced earlier this week that Ron Jeremy, a well-known adult entertainer, had been indicted on at least 30 known sexual assault allegations extending all the way back to 1996.

According to prosecutors, the adult entertainer is accused of assaulting 21 different women.

The defendant, whose legal name is Ron Jeremy Hyatt, is 68 years old and has worked in the adult film industry since the 1970s as a performer and director. He earned the moniker "the Hedgehog" in part because of his body hair and stocky frame. It wouldn't be a far cry from the truth to say that he has appeared in over 2,000 films throughout his career.

According to a news release from Gascón's office, Jeremy has entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him, which include "12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or sleeping person, and one count of lewd act upon a child undecided."

“Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation,” Gascón said. “We must ensure that survivors have access to all available resources to aid in recovery, including trauma-informed healing services and assistance in reporting such crimes.”

The age range of the alleged victims spans from fifteen to fifty-one.

Jeremy's attorney claims his client has been "acquitted of all charges," but the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the Los Angeles Police Department, and the District Attorney's Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate the case.

Jeremy is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on a $6.6 million bond.
